Third Lindamood Brother Makes First Team All-State
And now there are three - Lindamood brothers who have made first team all-state.
]Senior Adam Lindamood joined brothers Joey and Matt on Dec. 9 when he was selected by the West Virginia Sports Writers Association on the Class AAA First All-State team as a defensive utility player.
Lindamood, a 6-foot, 200 pounder who played running back and defensive end, joins older brother Joey and middle brother Matt, who were both two-time all-state picks. Joey earned his honors in 2004 and 2005 while Matt set numerous records in making all-state in 2006 and 2007. The Lindamoods are one of 10 sets of brothers to represent Parkersburg High School as all-state football players and raises to 172 the total number of all-state picks for the state's all-time winningest football team (which now stands just five victories away from 800).
This past season Lindamood ran for 1,441 yards and scored 16 touchdowns for 96 total points. His finished his three-year career at PHS with 2,704 rushing yards, placing him sixth on the all-time list, headed by his brother Matt with 4,211. The youngest Lindamood scored 210 points during his career. On defense the outstanding Big Red wrestler and track performer had five quarterback sacks.
Together the three Lindamoods ran for nearly 9,000 yards at PHS (8,892) and scored 810 points.
Junior Kyle Foster was selected to the second all-state team as a punter after a near record-setting year. Foster averaged 41.3 yards on 35 punts to surpass legendary Leonard "Feets" Barnums, for the third best average of all-time. Barnum still has the top two averages - a figure Foster will aim for next year. Only 14 of Foster's kicks were returned this year and had 12 kicks inside the opponents 20 yard line.
Lantz Hoyler and Cody Roney were named honorable mention as a defensive lineman and kicker. Both are seniors.
