Pratt Powers Cougars Over Big Reds, 49-21

Tyhree Pratt, the West Virginia University football recruit, led defending state champion Capital to a 49-21 win over Parkersburg Friday night at Stadium Field.
The talented senior threw for two touchdowns and ran for another as Capital struggled against a determined Big Red team but finally pulled away as they averaged a whopping nine yards per play, scoring on a 51 yard run from Pratt, who threw for touchdowns which covered 61 and 60 yards.
Pratt finished with 141 yards rushing and 207 passing with Silas Nazario accounted for three touchdowns with 108 yards rushing and 109 yards receiving. Miguel Bays caught seven passes for 96 yards.
Junior Bradley Craig threw for 211 yards and two touchdowns, both to Karson Snyder, while completing 17 of 27 passes with one interception. Easton Martin caught eight passes for 85 yards.
The Big Reds scored first on a 42 yard pass play to Snyder, who was wide open on the play. But Capital came back on the very next play 11 seconds later with Pratt scrambling for a touchdown.
The Cougars added two more touchdowns in the second period and scored early in the third on big plays to up their lead to 28-7 before Craig and Snyder hooked up again with a 39 yard pass play down the sidelines to cut the lead to 28-14 with 2:19 left in the third quarter. Snyder had to tight-rope the last 10 yards after a Capital defender tried to push him out of bounds.
Capital tackled on a Nazario TD late in the third period and then scored two more times in the middle of the fourth quarter before Sims picked up a kickoff at the 11 that was dropped at the seven yard line and sped 89 yards up the middle for a touchdown.
